Filling in the corners

I have been busy elsewhere, again, sigh. I have managed to do a little bit of "filling in the corners", or adding a few missing items to my existing lines. More is in the works, I promise!

The first item is another metal for Bibliophile. I was requested by someone fond of Steampunk to make a copper version. So I did, with a distressed leather journal as the book. I have these up in my store, under the rest of the Bibliophile line. Both a men's and woman's version is available.

Another tiny addition is a 8-ball earring to go with the 8-ball necklace. I should have that in the store by tomorrow.

Other things: 1) I have begun to keep just 2 things in my Lucky chair and I put it on 10 minutes. I will be changing it weekly. More fun, different items, all that good stuff! :) 2) I have expanded my store. Now, there is nothing in the expansion yet. I plan on adding a line of simple piercings, earrings, and other things, and hopefully fill that room up. with, as I have heard others say, "prim-y goodness". The ideas have already flooded my brain, and are clamoring for escape. Wish me luck!

Derivative Things

I loved doing the Ethereal set, but there were a few things that made me want to go a bit further with it. One: Ethereal was a commission, and I was not sure I would have rights to sell it. Two: not every one wants to wear a tiara, or even be quite that fancy all of the time.

So, I created a version I call Simply Ethereal.

I am very happy with this simplified version of the main motif. I did go a bit whack with this though. I ended up making 15 different versions? Ya, a bit whack. It just worked so well with so many different gems. The most out there is the Black, Peridot version, but it just turned out so nice.

What can happen with commissions

I have been a bad blogger. I have also had a topsy turvy life, and been very busy. No excuse.

One thing I have been doing though is commissions. That has left me with less time to work on my own designs which is regrettable. It has however been stretching me as a builder. I have taken on a few definite challenges.

Two of my clients have entered sales agreements with me, which means I can feature the items I made for them at my store. Very exciting, because one of the pieces I made for a client is one of the prettiest things I have ever done. And that is the Ethereal set.

Here's another photo. I have to admit I wore it around for a week. And I am generally not a tiara kind of person. Worked fine with my black leathers though.

I am now in process with another set of commission pieces. i can't show pics yet, and it is killing me. But I will the minute I can. I can say that I am recreating in SL some fine sterling jewelry from RL, lovely, challenging, and classic stuff. In the process I have learned to make sculpties, which is even better. I will try to squeak out some stuff for my line in the interim, but this stuff is way worth waiting for.
